About

As in previous years this years’ photographic competition focuses entirely on the River Medway from Tonbridge to Rochester Bridge. This year, rather than categories we have a theme. We have named this years' competition ‘Life on the River Medway’ and therefore your images could be wildlife related or community/recreation related. The competition is open until 1st May 2011 so why not submit a few images and capture the change in seasons.

As long as your image is taken of the river, by the river or in a community close to the river Medway (please state where) you’ll be free to enter. All entries will be on view on the website for the duration of the competition. In addition – to support this years’ theme we would like you to submit a short paragraph about your image. Where was it taken, why was it taken and what does it mean to you?

In 2011 there will be two overall winners, one from the under 18 group and one from the over 18 group. The overall winners from both the under and over 18’s groups will win a fantastic photographic workshop day with professional wildlife photographer Terry Whittaker plus your winning image will be put on canvas for you to keep.

All images must be uploaded onto the website and therefore need to be in a digital format. Images will remain on the website until after the competition deadline and judging.

Read through the rules and regulations and check out all the images on the website so far for inspiration.

If you need to discuss the competition, please contact us at Medway Valley Countryside Partnership, however please be aware that postal entries are not accepted.

Good luck and enjoy your time by the river.
